Livonia East Center Director
Nicholas Lefere, PT, DPT, FAFS graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in May 2014 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Nick completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), as well as the APTA’s sections of Sports, Orthopedics, and Private Practice. Nick specializes in sports and orthopedic injuries, as well outpatient pediatric care.
Nick’s interest in orthopedic physical therapy stems from his background in ice hockey and football. Nick has become a Fellow of Applied functional science: a theory that guides practitioners to understand more deeply how the body works in function, and how this changes with given diagnoses. He uses a wide variety of manual therapy techniques, including joint and soft-tissue mobilization, McKenzie treatment method, and mobilization with movement. Nick believes that patient education is a vital tool in a true comprehensive therapeutic approach.
Nick is the Director of The Garden City and Livonia East Center at Plymouth Physical Therapy Specialists. In his free time, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, golfing, snowboarding and coaching his kids’ sports teams.
