Northville Center Director

Ari Drainas, PT, DPT, Cert. MDT, FAFS, CEAS, FGS has a unique and exciting pathway to becoming a Physical Therapist (PT). Originally he got his Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) degree from Egnatia Institute of Ioannina, Greece in 2002. He completed his PT degree at University of Thessaly, Greece and Linkoping University,Sweden in 2008. Finally he went to get his DPT equivalency in 2010 through FCCPT and Wayne State University Detroit, MI.
Ari has attended multiple continuing education courses and certifications in his over 20 year career. Most notable are; his certification in Mckenzie Institute MDT classification system (2013), Fellow of Applied Functional Science FAFS (2017), Ergonomics Certification CEAS (2019) and Functional Golf System specialist FGS (2022). Additionally he is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Michigan Physical Therapy Association (MPTA).
Additionally he has treated athletes ranging from young athletes to professionals. One of his most memorable experiences was working with the professional women’s soccer team in Linkoping, Sweden during his clinical work there.
Ari and his team’s mission is to create a pleasant and friendly environment focusing on every patient individually, targeting their specific goals and achieving full recovery with return to a fully functional pain free life.
