White Lake/Waterford Center Director
Phillip Schuyten, PT, DPT, FAFS, FGS has been serving as the Director of Plymouth PT Specialists in the White Lake/Waterford area since 2009. Phil completed his Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Grand Valley State University and went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan. With a career spanning over 20 years, Phil embarked on his journey in the field as a PT technician with Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI in 2002 before pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Phil works closely with Walled Lake Northern and other local high schools, offering on-site and off-site coverage for student athletes. He holds an Emergency Medical Responder for the Athlete certification and regularly participates in continuing education courses to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field. Additionally, Phil dedicates a significant amount of his time presenting nationally to physicians, residents, and other medical practitioners, sharing his expertise and knowledge on the utilization and effectiveness of Physical Therapy.
Furthermore, he volunteers his expertise by hosting workshops on injury prevention and screening to local dance and gymnastics teams. Since 2010, Phil has been actively involved with U.S. Figure Skating, working alongside numerous current and former Olympic athletes, further enriching his experience and contribution to the field. Phil loves outreach and building relationships and can often be found volunteering at various local events to support the community.
