CLASS LIST

OUR SMALL GROUP PILATES SESSIONS PROVIDE AN EXCLUSIVE AND HIGHLY PERSONALIZED WAY TO EMBARK ON YOUR PILATES JOURNEY.  WITH A MAXIMUM OF FOUR CLIENTS PER INSTRUCTOR, YOU’LL RECEIVE INDIVIDUALIZED ATTENTION AND EXPERT GUIDANCE DURING EVERY SESSION.

INTRO CLASS

In this 30 minute one on one class you will learn the basic principles of Pilates.  These principles will be used over and over again in each class to provide you the most benefit of each exercise and to really create a mind body connection.  This class will introduce you to the reformer and teach you beginner reformer exercises.

  • THIS CLASS IS REQUIRED BEFORE SCHEDULING FOR ANY OTHER CLASS IN ORDER TO FIND YOUR BASELINE.
MIXED EQUIPMENT CLASS 1

CLASS 1 WILL FOCUS ON WHATEVER MIXTURE OF EQUIPMENT AND EXERCISES THE INSTRUCTOR CHOOSES RANGING FROM REFORMERS, CHAIR, CADILLAC/TOWER, OR MAT-WORK.  THIS CLASS WILL PROVIDE A GREAT FULL BODY WORKOUT WHILE STILL INCORPORATING THE BASIC PRINCIPLES TO ENSURE THAT YOU GET THE MOST OUT OF EVERY EXERCISE.  IT IS A GREAT WAY TO TRY OUT A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AND TO INCORPORATE SOME MORE FUNCTIONAL EXERCISES INTO YOUR WORKOUT.

CLASS 2 WILL FOCUS ON WHATEVER MIXTURE OF EQUIPMENT AND EXERCISES THE INSTRUCTOR CHOOSES RANGING FROM REFORMER, CHAIR, CADILLAC/TOWER, OR MAT WORK.  THIS CLASS WILL PROVIDE A GREAT FULL BODY WORKOUT WHILE STILL INCORPORATING THE BASIC PRINCIPLES TO ENSURE THAT YOU GET THE MOST OUT OF EVERY EXERCISE.  IT IS A GREAT WAY TO TRY OUT A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AND TO INCORPORATE SOME MORE FUNCTIONAL EXERCISES INTO YOUR WORKOUT. THIS IS A LEVEL 2 CLASS FOCUSING ON THE ADDITION OF MORE INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED EXERCISES. 

CARDIO TRAMP/ INTERVAL

A HIGHER INTENSITY CLASS WILL PROVIDE A CHALLENGING WORKOUT THAT WILL GET  YOUR HEART PUMPING.  A COMBINATION OF STRENGTHENING EXERCISES PAIRED WITH JUMPING INTERVALS ON THE REFORMER AND/OR TIMED INTERVALS IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS STYLE CLASS.  THIS CLASS IS NOT SUTED FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INJURIES.  A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRICIPLES IS REQUIRED. 

PRIVATE/DUETS

One on one or two on one sessions catered to each individual’s specific goals of health and wellness.  These sessions are great for those with injuries, those that have more individualized goals/needs or those that just want to take their pilates knowledge and skill to another level.  These sessions will utilize a variety of equipment and props based upon each individual’s goals, limitations or needs.

ACTIVE AGING

A PRE-MODIFIED FOR THE ACTIVE AGING, THOSE WITH INJURIES OR THOSE LOOKING FOR A SLOWER PACED CLASS.  IN THIS CLASS YOU WILL FIND A VARIETY OF EXERCISES THAT WILL IMPROVE YOUR STRENGTH, BALANCE, FLEXIBILITY, MOBILITY AND POSTURE.  THIS CLASS WILL FOCUS ON THE SAME PILATES PRINCIPLES AND WILL USE A VARIETY OF EQUIPMENT INCLUDING REFORMER, CADILLAC, CHAIR, FITNESS CIRCLES, RESISTANCE BANDS AND MORE.

Shelby Mathison

Shelby Mathison, a Downriver native, discovered her passion for sports and well-being early on. Initially drawn to college soccer, an injury redirected her to pursue physical therapy. Dedicated to making a positive impact, Shelby aspired to guide individuals through rehabilitation and help them return to an active lifestyle aligned with their interests.

To enhance her physical therapy practice, Shelby pursued Pilates, obtaining her Matwork Certification through Stott Pilates. This transformative experience inspired her to achieve full certification as a Pilates Teacher. With National Certification in hand, Shelby is now eager to share the widespread benefits of Pilates through teaching classes and personalized sessions in a studio environment. Her goal is to support individuals in achieving their health, wellness, and fitness objectives, empowering them to sustain their cherished activities.

The foundation of Pilates starts with building a strong and stable core. A strong & stable core creates a foundation for your body to work from and will help you have improved movement in all aspects of your life. Engaging and strengthening the core muscles can improve posture, reduce pain, improve your balance and so much more. While core strengthening is a big focus in Pilates you will also strength, lengthen, tone and stabilize muscles throughout the entire body in each and every session.
